As the Dungeon Master, you install the Owl20 Owlbear Rodeo extension once and enable it in each room. Your players handle the browser extension side — this guide covers your part, which takes about 3 minutes.
Owl20 has two parts. Understanding which part you're responsible for prevents the most common setup confusion:
💡 Send your players to the Player Setup Guide — it walks them through their part step by step.
The Owl20 OBR extension lives inside Owlbear Rodeo, not in your browser extension store. It's installed via a manifest URL using Owlbear Rodeo's own extension system.
Follow the official Owlbear Rodeo guide: extensions.owlbear.rodeo/guide
When prompted for the extension URL, use this manifest link:
https://owl20.FriendlyMimic.com/manifest.json
💡 You only need to install it once. After that, it will be available in all your rooms — you just need to enable it per room (Step 2).
Installing the extension adds it to your Owlbear Rodeo account, but you need to activate it in each room where you want it to work:
✅ The Owl20 dice log window will now appear in the room for all participants once a roll comes through.
